Mrs. Alison Friesen
Middle School Coordinator and Lead Teacher
Mrs. Alison Friesen joins our faculty as our middle school coordinator and lead teacher. A dynamic educator with a deep passion for literature, excellent thinking, and innovative teaching, Alison brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development, student engagement, and academic leadership.
With a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond, and in pursuit of a MA in Classical Education, Alison has spent years shaping rigorous humanities programs and leading student-centered, inquiry-based instruction. As Humanities Curriculum Lead and Fourth Form Teacher at Rivendell School, she oversaw an integrated literature, history, and language arts program, developing students’ analytical writing, close-reading, and critical discussion skills while ensuring a challenging, engaging academic environment.
Her leadership extends beyond the classroom, and she has led in refining schoolwide curriculum, instructional approaches, and faculty collaboration to support academic excellence and character development.
As our middle school and lead teacher, Alison provides vision, mentorship, and strategic oversight, ensuring a cohesive, high-expectation learning environment that prepares students for the next stage of their education.
