Dr. Katrina King Nicholson
Music Teacher
Originally from upstate New York, Dr. King Nicholson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in flute performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, complemented by a doctorate from Shenandoah Conservatory. With a special interest in music theory and historical performance, she has earned a minor in music theory from CIM and Early Music Performers’ Certificates from Case Western Reserve University.
Currently based in the greater D.C. area, she is a dedicated flute instructor at the International School of Music and an active freelancer. She regularly performs with the York Symphony Orchestra and contributes to the music ministry at Truro Anglican Church.
Outside her professional endeavors, Dr. King Nicholson enjoys trail running, delving into good stories, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Her extensive academic background and active participation in music and community activities establish her as a valued member of both her professional and local communities.
