Mrs. Naomi Hibbs

Grammar School
4th/5th Grade

Mrs. Hibbs joins Tyndale from The Wilberforce School in Princeton, New Jersey, where she taught middle school humanities and led extracurricular activities, including a creative writing and theater club. Her journey into classical education began at Furman University through the prestigious Tocqueville Program, which immersed her in the seminal texts of Western civilization, and which sparked deep reflections on what it means to be human. The joy that she experienced in her classes made a lasting impression and she desires to help students begin to see the truth for themselves; as in Plato’s cave, she believes the teacher does not give vision but only turns the soul in the right direction.

Adept at helping students encounter living ideas, Mrs. Hibbs also seeks to know each student personally while supporting them in good, life-giving habits and behavior. She is enthusiastic about being part of Tyndale’s inaugural year, eager to infuse the classroom with academic excellence and a love for ideas.

Recently married, Mrs. Hibbs and her husband are excited about their new life in the DC area. She holds a degree in Political and International Affairs from Furman University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and is proficient in Ancient Greek and Mandarin Chinese, adding a rich linguistic and cultural dimension to her teaching.
